Olton Orient In To BCFA Sunday Amateur Cup Final

Olton Orient travelled all the way to Kidderminster to get their Semi-Final played, having been waterlogged off from home advantage in BCFA Sunday Amateur Cup. They had been drawn against Tap House Rangers of the Kidderminster Sunday League.

The game started as it would go on, with Tap House and the O's enjoying fair spells of play and being on top. However, Tap House Rangers struck the first blow of the day, with a good goal with movement from their striker creating space before volleying the ball into the net.

The O's grew into the half and were on level terms when good hold up play from Josh Brown saw him send in Oli Smith behind their backline who lofted the ball over the onrushing keeper and into the net.

Half time: Tap House Rangers 1 - 1 Olton Orient

A slow start to the second half from Olton saw Tap House take the advantage and soon had a goal for their early dominance, a ball over the top was left by a player in an offside position but a player from deep ran on and after steadying himself buried it across goal and into the bottom left corner of the goal.

The O's have made a habit out of recovering from goals behind over the last couple of seasons and would do so again, through substitute Ryan King, showing strength and dribbling skills to work his way into the box where the ball ended up at the feet of skipper Sam Beavan who swept the equaliser in from just inside the box.

The final few minutes of 90 minutes were spent mainly in the Olton half, with crosses into the box but being well defended, and the O's always a threat on the break.
