The extent of the Solihull & District Oakbourne Football League playing season will be announced at the league annual general each season.
Teams will be given the scheduled official start of season date. However, some special arrangements can be made with the fixtures secretary for matches to be played earlier than the official start date if requested in writing and they are deemed by the fixtures secretary to be possible in terms of pitch availability, proper insurance cover and the availability of match officials. If permission is refused, for such a game, and the match is still played, the league would not accept the result of the game in competition.
Teams will be given the scheduled official end of season date. This date is also part of the information sent to Birmingham County Football Association, to whom the league is affiliated, and any change to this date would need sanctioning by their offices.
Given that there is always a possibility that the schedule of matches will overrun, due to circumstances beyond the control of the league (weather etc:) the League Council will have the right to extend the season, at any point, in order to complete the fixtures within any specific playing season.
