The Alan Walker Invitational Cup

The 36cm Silver Cup may be used by league committee as a trophy for an invitational final that must include the team of the orignally named 'Damsonwood Blues' - The decision on which team will be invited is left to the League Committee. Should a team other than Damsonwood Blues win this Cup they will automatically defend the trophy in the next season, assuming that they remain part of the Oakbourne League.

Memorial Trophy in respect to Alan Walker

Alan Walker's association with Damsonwood Blues started back in 1999 when his son-in-law, Ken Rae, was signed as goalie. Alan had been a football fan through his childhood and followed West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham City. Alan played football as a young man at a semi-prpfessional standard, being unable to play at any higher levels due to poor eyesight and the continual need to wear glasses. He enthusiastically followed Damsonwood Blues' progress in many cup runs and league matches. Following his sudden death in 2001, the management and team of Damsonwood Blues approached the league to allow them to stage a cup final every year in his memory. League council agreed to running an invitational final, whilst their team remained in The Solihull & District Oakbourne Sunday Football League
